Tapping Therapy (EFT©) – Meridian Point & Emotion Tutorial Part 2

Tapping Point Relationship Tutorial

In this tutorial, I offer a diagram detailing the meridian tapping points, together with the organs they energize and the emotions they regulate. It can be most helpful to have this information when tapping, though it is not necessary to the success of the tapping therapy session.

This 2nd part of the tutorial outlines the rest of the tapping points, their location on the body, and what they address. It also briefly outlines the process of psychological reversal.

T – thumb is the lung meridian – increases energy, courage, decreases negativity, sadness, depression;

IF – index finger is the large intestine meridian – decreases nostalgia, relieves guilt (helpful in forgiveness issues), increases optimism;

MF – middle finger is the sex or heart governor –increases willpower, inferiority, decreases low self esteem, cruelty, regret, sexual problems;

LF – little finger, baby finger is the heart meridian – increases long term memory, love, joy; decreases selfishness, loneliness, arrogance;

Top of head: meeting of a 1,000 meridians – addresses multiple meridians in order to balance the body, mind and emotional self;

Gamut Point – is the thyroid, triple heater meridian – decreases flight-fight responses, stress responses;

KC – karate chop is the small intestine meridian – decreases cloudy judgment, increases self esteem, decision-making (also, as well as the sore spots on trunk) it is used when addressing psychological reversal);

Psychological Reversal was discovered when tapping therapy was first being developed. Each meridian was muscle tested before tapping in order to reveal which ones were blocked and would be tapped.

When statements the client made were muscled tested as well, they often proved to be a “no” or a “false.” Thus a sincere statement such as “I want to quit smoking.” made the muscle tested go weak. It was discovered that tapping one of two areas of the body, the sore spot or the karate chop, before tapping the meridians would release this subconscious resistance.

I will be demonstrating it with tapping therapy in the next video. Trusting this will be most helpful to you.

This is the 2nd part of the tutorial outlining the tapping points on the hands as well as the final tapping place when carrying out the abbreviated tapping therapy, including the gamut and sore spots areas used in psychological reversal.

 T – thumb is the lung meridian – increases energy, courage, decreases negativity, sadness, depression

IF – index finger is the large intestine meridian – decreases nostalgia, relieves guilt (helpful in forgiveness issues), increases optimism

MF – middle finger is the sex or heart governor –increases willpower, inferiority, decreases low self esteem, cruelty, regret, sexual problems;

LF – little finger, baby finger is the heart meridian – increases long term memory, love, joy; decreases selfishness, loneliness, arrogance

Top of head meeting of a 1,000 meridians – addresses multiple meridians in order to balance the body, mind and emotional self

Gamut Point – is the thyroid, triple heater meridian – decreases flight-fight responses, stress responses

KC – karate chop is the small intestine meridian – decreases cloudy judgment, increases self esteem, decision-making (also, as well as the sore spots on trunk) it is used when addressing psychological reversal)

That is a very brief outline of what the meridian points that are being tapped during tapping therapy, are used for. I thought that would be very helpful before we begin to actually tap.

Psychological Reversal

So we may as well find out what psychological reversal is about. Psychological reversal is something that was initially discovered when doing muscle testing (to discover which meridians were involved in the emotional blockage) while having someone say, “Gee, I really want to quit smoking. I really want to quit that habit for sure! I really want to. I desperately want to. I truly want to.” You feel the sincerity and they feel they are being sincere. When you muscle test the person, you will find that the body (goes weak which) says, that is not true – a weird experience. Yet it makes sense.

There are so many times when we want something really badly but we do everything under the sun in the opposite way. Even though we say we want to quit smoking, or we want to quit drinking or we don’t want to eat so much, or we want to do our jogging – whatever it is. There is a whole part of us, a subconscious part of us, that says, “No that is not going to happen. I could never do that sort of thing. I’m not good at quitting. I never follow through. All those negative beliefs are sitting back there (in the subconscious) saying “Uh uh uh…you’re not going to do it.” That process is called psychological reversal.

The tapping therapy has this a process built in as a kind of fail safe so that we stand in the truth – what we are really truly feeling and, at the same time, tapping that fear/doubt/resistance out. What we really truly feel is, even though I do not want to stand up in front of a whole bunch of people and talk, even though I do not want to do that, I accept that that is the way it is for me. What you are doing there is addressing the psychological reversal, which means that you do not really want to or really believe you can do it

Even if you never use tapping therapy, remember about psychological reversal. It is very helpful to realize that you need to be extremely honest about where you are at (not supress your doubt or resistance to change). You may think it is time for you to do something and yet there is a whole part of you that believes you will never be able to do it. It is much better to address the “I don’t think I can do it.” part and realize what you are afraid of and stand in the truth of that fear – not resist it, not make it bigger than it is, then proceed to do whatever you need to do.

Peace to You.
